CATEC's powerful Ozone, UV or Chemical injection systems (we offer all three) destroy bacteria, spores, microbes and enzymes on contact, which ensures the water is safe for reuse. Onboard filtration is provided to remove particles greater than one micron. The systems will not release reuse water until it is up to a preset disinfection level. Quality Features
It is important to employ a good disinfection process to keep the water fresh and usable. Other systems use chlorine (or other chemicals) for disinfection. Chlorine requires continuous purchasing, handling and injecting to be effective. Chlorine also is dangerous to handle, and is not environmentally friendly. In fact, chlorine is damaging to the environment. Chlorine is also corrosive and will cause premature wear on pumping and delivery systems. NOTE: Systems that use chlorine or other chemicals may also result in a loss of LEED qualification points.
CATEC utilizes Ozone and/or UV technology to disinfect the water. Ozone is very environmentally friendly for water treatment because it does not require the addition of chemicals. Since Ozone is produced from Oxygen, Ozone (O3) reverts to back to oxygen (O2) after it has done it's job. Ozone is 15 times more powerful than chlorine and works 3000 times faster. Good filtration is required to remove suspended solids and byproducts once the water is treated with Ozone. CATEC'S Rainwater Reuse Systems are used to treat captured rainwater from building roofs and select other sources. The rain water is disinfected and made suitable for toilet flushing, cleaning water, irrigation systems, cooling tower make-up water as well as any other uses requiring non-potable water. CATEC Rainwater/Condensate Reuse Systems are a turn-key, skid mounted system which employ a powerful disinfection delivery and filtration system, all in one. All timers, sensors and controls come with the unit so there are no extras to buy. The systems arrive pre-plumbed and pre-wired. Once installed, a simple one time set up is all it takes to get the system in service. A qualified plumber can usually install the system within two working days. Tanks can be above ground or below ground. The processed rainwater is pressurized and delivered "on demand" to the water utilities which the system services. Sensors in the tanks detect whether rainwater is present in the tanks. If rainwater is not available, the system automatically switches to an alternate source and will continue feeding utilities hooked up to the system. Maintenance is simple and can be performed in a few minutes by general labor persons. Five to ten minutes once a month is typical. CATEC's Rainwater Reuse Systems are available in 10, 15, 35, 50, 80,100, 120, 150, 200 and 300 GPM All provide treated water On-demand to your selected water utilities.
