Spot Free System Ratings: A word to the wise All RO systems produce their rated output only at a specified water temperature (industry standard is 770 F) and at the water pressure specified for the membranes. All RO systems, CATEC’s included, will produce less output water as the temperature drops and/or as the pressure across the membrane drops. Typically RO outputs will decrease by 50% at feed water temperature of 500 F compared to the output at 770 F. If you tell CATEC the range of feed water temperatures expected, we will tell you the range of RO water output to expect. If you use any RO system in northern climates where the feed water temperature drops significantly in the winter, be aware that you will not then get “rated” output from your RO system. . You probably won’t need to be concerned about your water pressure, so long as it is within reasonable limits, because CATEC RO systems use a booster pump to increase the pressure from your mains up to some “design” pressure for their membranes. Be advised, and select your RO system ratings accordingly. If in doubt, consult a CATEC professional for assistance. Call or e-mail us today for recommendations, specifications and quotes.
