Water Reclaim Systems For Conveyor Tunnel Washes Be it Express Exterior or Full Service, a tunnel vehicle wash is the top performer in car washing. With throughputs of up to 1200 cars per day, the tunnel wash requires some muscle in the reclaim department. For conveyor tunnels up to 80' in length, a smaller system may be used. In longer tunnel washes, we will need to step up to the 100 or 150 GPM System. Recycle water in a tunnel wash can be used in virtually all functions of the vehicle wash with the exception of chemical mixing and final rinse. You can expect a 60% - 80% reduction in water and sewer use, depending on which functions you have on reclaim. Smaller systems may do the trick if you just want to reclaim water for say, undercarriage and wheel blasters. This can substantially lower water and sewer cost for less upfront. Many times a smaller system can save 40%-60% by doing partial reclaim.
The systems employ a self-cleaning filter which automatically backwashes when it detects filter restrictions. CATEC ACF filter series systems also employ a backwash interceptor (included) which captures dirt and muck from the self-cleaning process, preventing it from re-entering the system. The onboard CATEC Ozone System helps to demulsify oils and waxes as well as killing off odor causing bacteria. The Auto-Bypass system will default to fresh water if there is a system or power failure. You can also pick and choose reclaim or fresh water with the press of a button. CATEC’s Exclusive Sludge Interceptor (included with ACF Filter Systems) captures dirt and sludge from the self-cleaning cycle, removing it from the system. If you are going to backwash, this only makes sense.
Our pump suction basket (included) protects pump suction lines from ingesting rags, bags, leaves etc. Foot valves are in-line with each suction pipe. The perforated stainless steel basket is easily removed for inspection and cleaning. A low level float switch is included.
